A recent article published by NIH suggests that research is beginning to show that the benefits of massage go much further than just relaxation. Other common reasons for getting a massage include relieving pain, healing sports injuries, reducing stress, and easing anxiety or depression. According to a study from the University of Miami, massage therapy has been shown to relax the nervous system by slowing a person’s heart rate and blood pressure.
